All About Julia

My blog is pretty much about Julia all the time, but she is so much more interesting than I am! She is changing and growing at such an amazing rate, it blows my mind!

Here she is helping make supper. Actually helping, not just playing around! She was cutting up the wieners for that old family favourite, Saucy Franks. Yummy.

Here she is dressed up for Halloween. She loved being a little ladybug with wings, antennas and a wand! Sure, a ladybug can have a ladybug wand. Why not? :)
(I loved that her costume came from the dollar store!)

Ah! One of the many reasons I love having a little girl! Of course the only way she'll sit still enough for this is if I let her watch cartoons on the computer.

And here are a few of my favourite "Julia-isms":
"TIME OUT!" -shrieked very loudly on the bus after I told her to sit still and don't move. I guess that's also what I tell her when I put her in the time-out chair...
"I LOVE it!" -said about many things, including doggy doo on the sidewalk.
"Come on, come on! Aren't you coming?!" -tugging on a hand in the direction she wants to go. She's very persuasive.
"Pachyderm" -name given to her stuffed elephant, after hearing Daddy refer to an elephant as a pachyderm.

"Thank you Lord for food"
-sung while playing with her doll. Her prayers often include giving thanks for everyone we know, and movies.

For my friends in Edmonton

I thought you might like to see this. (Sorry the picture is blurry. The camera still works -sort of- since I dropped it, it just doesn't always focus really well.) This is just a block from our house. It is quite beautiful. And such a change from living on the prairies! Julia and I like to walk down here and people and seagull watch. :)

Just a few favourite recent pics.

We spent a couple nights camping with a friend (thanks, Andrea!) and Julia had a great time in the lake.
The ducks were so tame! They would sleep on the beach with you sitting right there!
Julia enjoying her first boat ride.
She LOVES her rubber boots. Apparently they complement any outfit.
My bookworms. ♥

Spring!

Julia's cousin, Madison, had her 3rd birthday party at a farm. This is Julia's first ride on a pony! She loved it! Wasn't scared at all, like I was afraid she might be.
Hands up in the "?" position. Used for why, where, how.... basically any question. She has also taken to shrugging her shoulders now to go along with this.
A whole batch of bunnies at Easter time!
Having fun walking through puddles in her rubber boots. This was a month or so ago; the snow is all gone now.

This is a little bit different from most of my posts (it's not a picture of Julia!!) but I thought it was so great, I had to share it. It's so profound, yet so simple. It's also self-explanatory, so I won't say more. Just watch it.

New Year, New Pictures

I've heard from a few of you that you're sick of looking at the picture of the pig. So, okay, here are some new pictures of Julia. Christmas ones are a-comin' eventually...

Julia wearing her "klompen" slippers

Julia sitting in an upside down stool. She likes to find strange places like this to sit and poop. I'm hoping that will make for easy potty-training!?
First time with pigtails.

That's my girl!!
(She's pouring over the Stampin' Up catalogue.)

Sleeping with her teddy.

She likes to crawl into this cabinet, close the doors, then wait until we say "Where's Julia?" before flinging them open.

Opening one of her Christmas presents early.

Playing in the snow, which she loves to do.
She loves eating it too.

Big girl feeding herself with a real fork.
(Creamed corn & wieners with mashed potatoes - yum!)
