Orange Love

I recently received some serious love in the mail from one of my favourite people. She sent me a huge basket of goodies from The Body Shop - and I mean HUGE! So naturally, Julia and I had to try it out RIGHT AWAY. And it had to be more than a bath, it had to be a complete experience. So we decided to go with the Satsuma (orange) theme. We had the soap, the scrub, the shower gel ( of which I used a squirt for bubble bath), the body butter... and I made us some fruity, frothy, delicious orange smoothies. It was a complete experience, and it was delicious. There's nothing like a morning spent pampering to make these gals feel relaxed, happy and beautiful. :)

Budding Gardener

We have sooo much work to do in our yard! Julia is our big helper. She was absolutely thrilled when I bought her her very own pair of gardening gloves!

Easter

Happy Easter, everyone!
Julia is at an age where she loves to do anything crafty. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree at all! So this Easter we had fun doing several decorative things.

New Direction

Well, I don't think too many people actually look at my blog anymore and so I decided to use it not just as a place to post pictures of my darling daughter, but also some of my creations, particularly the ones entered into challenges. This post just happens to have both! :) My amazingly talented and creative friend, Dreena, over at Prairie Paperie posted this challenge recently. I had a very hard time narrowing it down - there is inspiration EVERYWHERE! I may have to do more than one project for this challenge! Here's my first one. I've been doing a lot of looking at crafty sites lately, and entering contests too. I have yet to win anything, but hopefully soon. This one would be really awesome!

Christmas pictures - finally!

All About Julia

My blog is pretty much about Julia all the time, but she is so much more interesting than I am! She is changing and growing at such an amazing rate, it blows my mind!

Here she is helping make supper. Actually helping, not just playing around! She was cutting up the wieners for that old family favourite, Saucy Franks. Yummy.

Here she is dressed up for Halloween. She loved being a little ladybug with wings, antennas and a wand! Sure, a ladybug can have a ladybug wand. Why not? :)
(I loved that her costume came from the dollar store!)

Ah! One of the many reasons I love having a little girl! Of course the only way she'll sit still enough for this is if I let her watch cartoons on the computer.


And here are a few of my favourite "Julia-isms":
"TIME OUT!" -shrieked very loudly on the bus after I told her to sit still and don't move. I guess that's also what I tell her when I put her in the time-out chair...
"I LOVE it!" -said about many things, including doggy doo on the sidewalk.
"Come on, come on! Aren't you coming?!" -tugging on a hand in the direction she wants to go. She's very persuasive.
"Pachyderm" -name given to her stuffed elephant, after hearing Daddy refer to an elephant as a pachyderm.
"Thank you Lord for food" -sung while playing with her doll. Her prayers often include giving thanks for everyone we know, and movies.
